Use of social media

When using content on our site that has been provided by social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube), usage information is sent to these services, who may also process it. In some cases, these services will create cookies.

Storage duration

Cookies are stored for three months. After this time, they are erased from the servers. In cases of revocation, this erasure occurs immediately.

On the basis of Article 6 paragraph 1 letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation, we process the following data to solve technical problems and in the event of unauthorised access or attempted access:

  • IP address of the user host,
  • Date and time of the request,
  • Client software of the requesting computer, i.e. usually the browser type and the desired access method/function,
  • transmitted input values (e. g.: the target file),
  • Access status of the Web server (for example: transfer file, file not found, command not executed) and name of the requested file.

Our legitimate interest has the purpose of providing a functioning and trouble-free Internet service.

The data is stored in a log file and deleted immediately after the technical problem has been rectified or unauthorised access attempts have been clarified.

Information on the use of »Web Analytic« technology from etracker GmbH

The provider of this website uses the services of etracker GmbH from Hamburg, Germany (www.etracker.com), to analyse usage data.

The standard mode of etracker Analytics does not use cookies; it only uses website data from web servers, as well as specific information sent by the web browser to the web server to retrieve websites. This information enables individual page hits and interactions to be combined into continuous, cohesive sessions. Encryption, coupled with a time stamp, prevents page hits outside the 24-hour window from being linked to customer journeys/user profiles.

Additional information on data protection for the online application »Participation portal«

The online participation portal is a key software component for the implementation of e-government by the Free State of Saxony. The online application processes the master, process and communication data. Various formats of participation procedures can be carried out with electronic support via the participation portal.

Users can use this platform to express their opinion on the social and political issues or make formal statements on current drafts of laws, etc., as well as participate in online surveys or send geo-referenced reports.

Dialogues, surveys or procedures are entered into the portal by Saxon authorities for a period of time determined by the authority. The responsibility of the respective authority for the specific implementation of the respective participation procedure is legally determined by the type of participation.

The initiating authority is therefore also responsible under the data protection law for the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 4 (7) in conjunction with Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation.

The privacy policies of the Saxon authorities as well as the contact data of the official data protection officer can be found on the respective website.

The data is processed by the service provider T-Systems International GmbH in compliance with the pertinent security requirements.

Personal data processed within the scope of the online application based on your consent, includes your e-mail address, a freely selectable login name and a password. This information is required for your registration if you wish to set up a user account. Depending on the legal basis for carrying out a specific participation procedure, your address may be required. This is then stored exclusively for the dedicated procedure. You also have the option of saving your address in your user profile so that you can use it again in a user-friendly manner for further procedures. Depending on the type of the participation procedure offered, it is possible to participate anonymously or after registration and login.

By registering, you give your user's consent to the processing of your data as described above. Consent is given by ticking the relevant box.

These data will be processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in accordance with your consent and on the basis of Article 6(1)(e) GDPR for the performance of the tasks of the Free State of Saxony in the public interest.

After your registration you will receive an additional confirmation message. The registration system with an additional confirmation message ensures that no third party can register under your e-mail address and that the registration is explicitly requested by you. If you have forgotten your password, a new password will be sent to your e-mail address upon request. Only the user name you have chosen is visible in the Participation Portal. You are responsible for keeping the password required for registration strictly confidential.

In addition to the publication of the user name and the contributions, comments, images and video messages you have entered under your user name, your activity is displayed in the Participation Portal. This includes the information about when you registered, when you last actively contributed and the number of posts and comments you have made.

The Free State of Saxony automatically collects and stores data (log file information) that your browser transmits to the server. Reference is made to para. 2 of the General Privacy Policy.

Data logged during access to the Participation Portal will only be transmitted to third parties if there is a legal obligation to do so or an obligation justified by a court decision, or if disclosure is necessary for legal or criminal prosecution in the event of attacks on the Internet infrastructure of the Free State of Saxony. No further disclosure will take place except in the cases described above.

If the legal requirements are met, you are entitled to exercise the rights referred to in para. 4 of the General Privacy Policy.  Furthermore, based on your consent to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to data transferability in accordance with Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation and the right to revoke your consent in accordance with Article 7 of the General Data Protection Regulation. You have the option of erasing your profile at any time. In this case all personal data will be erased.

Please take note of the following: Posts and comments published under your user name will not be erased. These remain permanently readable because the information contained is necessary for the legality and proper documentation of the procedure. The contributions and comments published under your user name will only be stored in connection with the specific procedure and the specific statement.

Children and persons under 18 years of age should not transmit any personal data to us without the consent of their parents or guardians.

Items from external sources can be integrated into the Participation Portal (e.g., video messages from YouTube, geo-information from external geo-information systems). Please note that we cannot guarantee that the operators of other websites comply with the applicable data protection regulations. This also applies to the social media plug-ins we are currently using: Facebook, Google+, Twitter.

Additional information on data protection for the online application »Central Publication Database«

The publication database of the Free State of Saxony provides an extensive range of brochures, flyers and other communication media of the State Chancellery, all ministries and numerous other authorities electronically, which can be ordered in electronic or printed form. The authorities that publish their publications in the central publication database and maintain the content of their offers themselves.

The controller for the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 4, para. 7, in conjunction with Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation is the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior. The processing of your data is carried out by the service providers Staatsbetrieb Sächsische Informatik Dienste and T-Systems International GmbH with the pertinent security requirements that have been agreed upon.

Every user can create his/her user account. When you place an order via the central publication database of the Free State of Saxony at the e-mail address: publikationen@sachsen.de, the following personal data is requested: Your name and address or e-mail address. These will only be processed for correspondence with you and solely for the purpose for which you provided the data. If you order publications more often via the webshop, you can also enter your delivery and billing address to speed up the ordering process. By registering, you give your user's consent to the processing of your data as described above. Numerous publications are available for free download as PDF files on the article detail pages, for which no user account needs to be created.

Your data will only be disclosed to the shipping company responsible for delivery, the central brochure dispatch department of the Saxon state government, if this is necessary for the delivery of the goods. To process payments, we pass on your payment data to the bank responsible for payment. In this regard, further personal data, to the extent that these are applicable to your order, will be processed in accordance with Section 8 of the Saxon E-Government Implementation Ordinance [Sächsische E-Government-Durchführungsverordnung]. This may include, for example: Company, sales tax identification number, economic identification number, street, house number, postcode, place of residence, state, country, different delivery address (if the ordered goods are not to be delivered to the customer's address), order date, order status, article description, quantity, unit price, total price, method of payment, customer number, SEPA mandate reference, cash register number, IBAN, BIC.

These data will be processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation as per your consent and on the basis of Article 6(1)(e) General Data Protection Regulation for the performance of the tasks of the Free State of Saxony in the public interest.

The Free State of Saxony automatically collects and stores data (log file information) that your browser transmits to the server. Reference is made to para. 2 of the General Privacy Policy.

Data will only be transmitted to third parties for the purposes other than those previously described, if there is a legal obligation in this respect or an obligation justified by a court decision, or if disclosure is necessary for legal or criminal prosecution in the event of attacks on the Internet infrastructure of the Free State of Saxony. No further disclosure will take place except in the cases described above.

If the legal requirements are met, you are entitled to exercise the rights referred to in para. 4 of the General Privacy Policy. If you have created a personal user account, you can cancel the same yourself at any time under the heading User Account/Deregistration. All user account data provided by you in advance will be removed from the system.   

Furthermore, based on your consent to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to data transferability in accordance with Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation and the right to revoke your consent in accordance with Article 7 of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Note: Data for billing and accounting purposes will not be affected by revocation or deletion. Insofar as commercial and fiscal retention periods have to be observed, the retention period for certain data can be up to 10 years.

Additional information on data protection for the online »application management«

The online application management is made available to Saxon authorities and local government bodies by the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior, as a software solution. The online application supports the authorities that are using it in offering electronic application processes to citizens and companies. The online application processes master data, process data and communication data.        

The online application Application Management is currently used in the application procedures Online Business Service, Online Drill Display (ELBA.Sax), Customs Fire and i-Car. The responsibility of the respective authority for the concrete implementation of the respective administrative procedure is legally determined by the dedicated procedure. Thus, the Trade Licensing Office is the competent authority for the registration of a trade. Due to different legal classifications, the competent authorities for the online drilling notifications are the State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology, the Saxon Oberbergamt (Mining Authority) and the subordinate water supply authorities of the respective administrative district or town. The vehicle registration offices of the respective districts and cities shall be responsible for online decommissioning and re-registration based on the iKfZ dedicated procedure.

The competent authority is therefore also the controller for the processing of personal data as defined in Article 4(7) in conjunction with Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation.

The processing of the data within the framework of the online application management is carried out by the service providers Staatsbetrieb Sächsische Informatik Dienste and T-Systems International GmbH with the correspondingly agreed security requirements.

The personal data processed in the online application upon your consent include your e-mail address, a freely selectable login name and a password. This information is required for your registration if you want to set up a user account. When you apply for your vehicle to be taken out of service or re-registered, the personal data on your electronic identity card or your electronic residence permit will be processed for this purpose.

In addition to other necessary documents, further data may be collected during the registration process, depending on the administrative procedure. These include: given name, last name, street name, street number, postal code, city This data is entered in the data fields provided for this purpose in the electronic administration procedure made available by the application management. This data is collected voluntarily. This data is not necessary to set up a user account.          

If you do not store other data, it must be entered separately in the data input screens for each electronic application (in the online business registration and ELBA.Sax specialist procedures). You can view and edit your stored data at any time under »My Profile«. In the »My applications« section, you can view the applications submitted and those that are stored temporarily (not submitted). These may contain personal data.

By registering, you provide a user's consent to the processing of your data as described above. Consent is given by ticking the relevant box.

These data will be processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR as per your consent and on the basis of Article 6(1)(e) GDPR for the performance of the tasks of the Free State of Saxony in the public interest.

After creating the user account, you will receive an additional confirmation message with the activation link, except in the dedicated iKfZ procedure. The registration system with an additional confirmation message ensures that no third party can register under your e-mail address and that the registration is explicitly requested by you. If you have forgotten your password, a new password will be sent to your e-mail address upon request. You are responsible for keeping the password required for registration strictly confidential.

Your personal data will only be processed and used upon your consent and to the extent necessary. Your data will not be used for any other purposes.

Data that is logged when the procedures implemented with the online application management are called up and used, will only be transferred to third parties if there is a legal obligation to do so or if the transfer is necessary in the event of attacks on the Internet infrastructure of the Free State of Saxony for legal or criminal prosecution. No further disclosure will take place except in the cases described above.

If the legal requirements are met, you are entitled to exercise the rights referred to in para. 2 of the »General Privacy Policy«. All the data you transfer using the application management system is protected by a secure encryption procedure. Our servers are also protected against unauthorised use. To protect the data to be processed, the application management implements measures to secure the data processing systems in accordance with the basic IT protection standards of the Federal Office for Information Security.

We use cookies on this website in order to make it easier for you to use the Web pages and to adapt them to your needs . Cookies are small text files that are stored in the memory of your Internet browser on the computer you use. Cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to make the Internet offer more user-friendly and effective overall. In particular, they enable the recognition of the Internet browser. Additional information on data protection for the online application »Media Service«

The online application »Media Service Saxony« can be used at any time without registering or logging in and thus without communicating personal data.

However, in order to receive media information automatically and to be able to use services in the internal »My Media Service« section, registration or log-in and thus the processing of personal data are required.

The following personal data is collected:

  • E-mail address,
  • Title, first and last name (journalists only)
  • Possession of a press card, press card number (journalists only),
  • Member of the Saxon State Press Conference (association, medium, activity) (journalists only)

This data is used exclusively for the automated retrieval of media information and the use of services under »My Media Service«.

You decide what information you provide. If you only enter your e-mail address, you will automatically receive media information from the Saxon state government via this address. Users who wish to register as journalists must state their full name, their press card number, if applicable, their membership in the national press conference and agree that the data may be processed in order to be assigned to the journalists group. This additional information can be deleted by journalists in the internal »My Media Service« section at any time or edited to facilitate accreditation.

By registering or logging in, you also agree that the Saxon State Chancellery may store your e-mail address and password.

You have the right to revoke your consent at any time. To do this, you can log out in your personal settings under »My Media Service« and thus delete your access details. This will erase all your stored personal data. Revoking your consent will not affect the legality of any processing that took place before the revocation.
